The whole point of that trade for the Nuggets perspective is to dump salary and get under the luxury tax. Brown's contract is for only one more season, while Camby's has 3 or 4 more years.

That deal would solely be based on financial reasons, not talent. Camby is by far the better player, and the Nuggets would have some very unhappy fans if they did it.

if you were a gm wouldnt you laugh at someone who isnt even a solidified starter in the league who has pretty much been a failure in the league, the only thing he can do is play defense... kinda, proposed for the defensive player in the league and the 2nd best weak side shot blocker in the league. i would laugh even if i wanted to save money or not

They're probably laughing about how stupid the trade offer is. The Nuggets would have to be drunk, drugged, and half asleep before they would even think about the trade. Camby won Defensive Player of the Year and it was well deserved because of his stellar play in the post. The only way they could look at the trade is if Camby began to start stacking up injury after injury like he had a couple of years ago, but that doesn't look likely because he looks very healthy right now and the Nuggets will do everything possible to keep it that way. The other problem is that the Pacers are talking to the Lakers about trades that involve Kwame Brown, but no one really knows how serious the talks are.
i haven't heard about this recent possible trade, but if it was presented by the lakers to the nuggets, i too would laugh. though i am a big lakers fan, to get camby, who just won defensive player of the year, for kwame would be the steal for the lakers and they would be the one's laughing all the way to another championship
It sure seems to me that they're laughing at the ridiculousness of the trade. Even if they want to get rid of a big salary, Camby is wayyy better than Brown and why would they get rid of him?

The way I see it, the ship is sinking in LA. No trades seem to be working, and the whole team is going to hate Kobe next year and nobody's going to want to play with him even tho they have to. With an even stronger West, you have San Antonio/Dallas/Phoenix/ Utah/Houston/Denver likely to take the top 6 spots. Portland/Seattle/Golden State could have more legitimate shots at fighting for the last 2 spots. Will the Lakers miss the playoffs?

I'm a big time Laker fan (since early 60's). I actually hope they do miss the playoffs next season. I don't like the way Kobe is maneuvering. The Lakers have not been good enough to be considered a serious contender, nor bad enough to get a high draft choice. So my crew has been caught in the worst position recently: mediocrity.

Let's stay w/ the young guys, trade Kobe, miss the playoffs, sign a big-time free agent after next season, and start getting busy in 2008 - 2009.

Yes! The Blazers made a good trade to get rid of Randolph, and hs a bunch of talented young players on their team. The Sonics made a blockbuster deal at draft night (Ray Allen trade), and now have a pretty good team.

Im thinking there in. I've heard Kupchek has been working hard on getting Jermaine O'Neal for Odom and Bynum. With a starting lineup of Brown, O'Neal, Walton, Bryant, and Farmar look for them to sneak in again at a #7 seed. At best they can snatch a 5 seed. Portland will be relying on a frontcourt with little offensive swagger and a Kobeesque ballhog in Stevey Franchise. The Sonics are starting from scratch and as much as I love Durant, he and Jeff Green will not carry the team into the playoffs

No matter how bad Kobe wants out he will not miss the play offs, he has way too much pride to tank games. seattle and portland will be in the lottery again next year (2 much youth, no vets to guide them). Kobe and co, will sneak in and have a 1st round bumping unless a major trade takes place, the final spot is between the hornets, GS (whos a weaker team with out J. Richardson) and the Clippers.

yeah you do but i wouldnt go overboard. comebacks happen alot. especially after a really big lead. and they ended up losing in the end which isnt good enough. if they won then i would be mad impressed. i would even hate kobe a little less

It wasn't so much what the Lakers did in the 4th, it was what the Celtics didn't do. And that was continue to be aggressive and dominate the game until the very end.

Boston was lucky to end up pulling out the win. But no more lucky than LA to even have the opportunity of a comeback after they played so horribly most of the game. Sorry, but LA hasn't quite earned much yet.
Yeah they came alive in the fourth period. Now you notice at the end of the game Kobe still passed up the shot so Fisher could shoot the three so I had to give him some respect because I used to hate him from hearing this from the announcers: Kobe with the three-pointer ahh Kobe missed oh Kobe has the ball back and he makes the mid-range jumper. i was watching, celtics were up 20 sum odd points with about 6 minutes left, i turned around and did some homework, i turn back and its a 2 possession game. i was shocked by both the lakers comeback and by the fackt boston let them get so close.

The only thing that matters is Wins and Losses.....A 40 point win is no better than a 1 point win...when its all said and done....If you have watched the Celtics this season, you would notice that almost every game they get a big league, they are horrible at keeping it.......

Lakers was able to come back because Celtics stopped playing. Once Boston realize that the game is not over yet, they played the game the way they should and was able to stopped Lakers.

He wants to stay a Laker for life. But how could he with a mediocre team. The only way to keep Kobe is to sign Jerry West and see what he can do. We have the worst front office ever. I hated Kobe since the day Shaq left, but suprisingly hearing him today made me sympathize with him. Hearing him talk to all the radio guys like the Loose Cannon made me soften my stance toward him. I always blamed him for Shaq leaving but it wasn't the case and Shaq agrees with him. Hearing him man up and say that back then he was young and more or less naive could have costed him another ring with shaq but instead Shaq got #4 without him. Management lied to him, its managements fault. I'd want out of there too.
